Today Apple pulled TV rentals through iTunes, Apple TV and other devices. A company spokesman said that “iTunes customers have shown they overwhelming prefer buying TV shows.”

Razer is stepping into the gaming notebook arena with this $2,800 (USD) beast of a machine named the Razer Blade. The laptop features Razer’s new “Switchblade Gaming Interface” which includes an LCD to the right of the keyboard that can be used as a multitouch panel, and 10 dynamic keys. Razer reports that it will be shipping during the fourth quarter of this year.

It looks as if Microsoft is about ready to show off its new Quad-Core Windows Slate at the Microsoft Build Conference in September. It is still uncertain if it will be running Windows 7 or 8.

Apparently no one told Best Buy that the iPhone 3GS is days away from being two generations old. If you’re looking for an iPhone, don’t but the 3GS, especially from Best Buy.  It looks like they want you to sign up for a 2 year contract just so you can get a $0.00 iPhone from two years ago.

Nokia has tripped up, everyone on the Internet now knows that they plan on releasing an update to their Symbian OS, named Belle, in the upcoming days.

Is anyone else a little surprised that Symbian is even still around? Didn’t it die with the candy-bar phone?

Apparently it took cancelling the TouchPad to for HP to actually sell some product. As we said a couple of days ago, we honestly thought WebOS had something special that could really challenge iOS.  Now it’s just dead, and the #1 on Amazon’s best-selling list.

One of my favorite apps to use when teaching, Skitch, is now available on Android devices (it has also been available on the Mac App Store.) Skitch is a great app that allows you to add a note to any image, with little to no effort. If you ever need to add a bit of text to an image, I encourage you to try Skitch out.
